College Testing Programs

A.C.T.

The A.C.T. test assesses a high school student's general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The multiple-choice tests cover English, mathematics, reading and science. The Writing Test, which is optional, measures skills in planning and writing a short essay. A.C.T. testing is given through Amarillo College.

S.A.T.

The S.A.T. is the most widely used admissions test in the US. It assesses a student's knowledge of subjects that are necessary for college success: Reading, writing and mathematics. The S.A.T. is typically taken by 11th and 12th grade students and is administered through Amarillo College.
